Whether it’s winning the 1967 NIT Championship, earning regular season conference titles or hoisting the trophy at Arch Madness, success is ingrained in Saluki Men’s Basketball. We’ve sent nine players to the NBA, including Hall of Famer Walt Frazier. Many others have gone on to careers in coaching, including our own Bryan Mullins.
When our team succeeds, the university prospers. This program has an impact that reaches far beyond the walls of Banterra Center. We earn national recognition, and across the country, people learn about the Salukis. A winning men’s basketball team is one of the university’s best recruiting tools. To help our program grow and thrive, we must depend on passionate investors.
We need private support to fund initiatives that contribute to the program’s success and build awareness and pride for Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
WHERE YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
SCHOLARSHIPS. Saluki Men’s Basketball is dedicated to bringing the best student-athletes to SIU. Through scholarships, we build a community of diverse, successful Salukis who act as ambassadors for the university. Our student-athletes are role models in the community and the classroom.
OPERATIONS. From recruiting to training to competition and beyond, there are countless moving pieces underpinning the smooth and effective operation of Saluki Men’s Basketball. Every link in the complex operational chain, including support staff and coaching staff for our student-athletes, is important to overall success.
FACILITIES. Saluki Men’s Basketball is blessed with many high-level, state-of-the-art facilities, but the need to upgrade is always on the horizon. Maintaining our existing facilities and preparing for the future requires regular investment.
