Esports is the name given to professional competitive gaming and is one of the fastest growing sport industries in the world. This sport will soon be a one billion dollar business with a global audience of over 300 million fans. The Esports Sponsor a Chair campaign will assist with the funding of the new SIU Esports arena located in the Student Center. The new 1200 sq. ft SIU Esports Arena is located on the first floor of the Student Center and is outfitted with seventeen state-of-art Dell gaming computers. Students can challenge their skills on a variety of games while having the opportunity to compete on five different competitive intramural Esports teams. The Esports arena is in need of 24 new gaming chairs along with additional gaming equipment. This promotion gives the opportunity to the first 24 donors of $500 to proudly display their name on one of our arena chairs as a sponsor. Along with the sponsorship any donor who makes a minimum gift of $500 will receive an identical chair shipped directly to you. The SIU Esports Arena is the first of its kind in the region to open on a University campus and provides opportunities to a diverse population of students who might be overlooked in traditional intramural sports. With a donation of $500 or more, you not only receive a custom SIU gaming chair/office chair but you support the students of SIU.
